Organizing training on English teaching methods for lecturers and teachers in Kien Giang province.

During 2 days (July 2nd and 3rd), Kien Giang University cooperated with the US Consulate General to organize a training program with the topic "English teaching methods" according to global trends for students at college and university education system.

Attending the training session there was Mr. Frederic Bernal Lim - English expert, US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Quach Thi My Ngoc - Senior Education Specialist - Department of Culture and Information, US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Vice Rector of Kien Giang University; Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang - Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Kien Giang University; and more than 30 teachers and lecturers from high schools, colleges and universities in the province.

Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Vice Rector of Kien Giang University spoke at the training program with the topic "English teaching methods".

Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Kien Giang University Vice Rector said that the training program aimed to create conditions for lecturers and teachers to research and access English teaching methods at secondary educational system at high school, college, and university levels around the world; strengthen connections and research in the field of teaching, etc.

The program was conducted by experts from the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City including guiding contents on topics such as: how to make learning English interesting; how to use visual literacy skills to encourage and improve communication skills; how to teach with games, ...

US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City guided the English teaching method training program.

According to experts apart from participating in interactive activities in the classroom, teachers need to identify factors increasing motivation and sharing tips to encourage and motivating learners to participate in learning; discussing the benefits of using visuals in the English classroom and explaining activities incorporating signs and infographics. Learners will explore activities and resources relevant to their classroom across different age groups and English abilities.
