Promote learning motivation through practical industry experience

Recently, 20 students majoring in Natural Resources and Environment Management, Kien Giang University have visited and studied at agencies, units, institutes, centers, applications and companies in the field of resource and environmental management.

The student delegation of visiting and practicing profession majoring in Natural Resources and Environment Management went to 9 places in 3 provinces of Can Tho, Vung Tau, Da Lat such as: Cham Chim National Park, Can Tho Thermal Power Company, Can Tho Solid Waste Treatment Plant, Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, City Wastewater Treatment Plant. Vung Tau, Phu My Fertilizer Plant, Nam Cat Tien National Park, Da Lat Urban Service Joint Stock Company, Lam Dong Water Supply and Sewerage Company Limited, Organik Da Lat Organic Vegetable Garden, Dankia 2 Clean Water Plant.

The delegation learned about the reality at the ESP exhaust smoke treatment system at Can Tho Thermal Power Company.

At Can Tho Thermal Power Company, students were introduced to the process of formation and development of power units at Can Tho and O Mon I Thermal Power Plants; Processes for converting thermal energy to electricity energy; Waste treatment process and technologies are being applied by the Company. And actually visit the site of O Mon I Factory. Here, the operators introduced about the equipment system, the process in electricity production as well as the exhaust smoke treatment (ESP) equipment, the desulfurization system (FPD), wastewater treatment system… During the field visit, the students were very excited to ask many questions about the waste treatment process as well as information about the equipment.  

Nguyen Van Sy, a student of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, shared: Through the field visit, I saw that the factory was invested with modern and large-scale equipment, providing electricity to serve the citizen needs, while treating wastewater and exhaust fumes up to standards, contributing to environmental protection.

After the tour, the students had the opportunity to hone and apply their acquired knowledge and skills to research, analyze and solve specific problems related to their major; help students fully and deeply aware of the profession, identify the field of interest to carry out research topics in the graduation thesis.
