To improve the quality of teaching the subject National Defense and Security Education in 2023 and the following years, Kien Giang University organized training for managers and lecturers taking over the subject National Defense and Security Education in 2023.

According to MSc. Do Thi Kim Phuong - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Politics and National Defense, the training program aimed to update the current world, regional, and domestic situation and issues related to Vietnam's National Defense and Security; unify, update and modify new content on the Strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation and prevent and combat some types of crimes against the law among students. At once, it fostered content, teaching methods and improved awareness, responsibility, and quality of teaching the subject of National Defense and Security Education.

The training program fostered and improved the capacity of managers and lecturers teaching the National Defense and Security Education subject under 6 main topics, specifically: Basic issues of the Fatherland Protection Strategy in the new situation; Preventing and combating certain types of crimes and law violations among pupils and students; Organize and practice training methods for commanding squad teams (each person without a gun); Organization and methods of tactical training: each person in combat attacks; Organization and training methods of card tactics: each person in defensive combat; Organization and practice methods of training: AK submachine gun shooting techniques.
