Ngày 22/12, Đoàn thanh niên – Hội sinh viên Trường Đại học Kiên Giang tổ chức khai mạc Hội thao sinh viên chào mừng 79 năm ngày thành lập Quân đội nhân dân Việt Nam (22/12/1944 – 22/12/2023), 74 năm ngày truyền thống học sinh, sinh viên và Hội sinh viên Việt Nam (9/01/1950 – 9/01/2024).

This year's sports festival has the participation of over 630 enthusiastic athletes competing in 4 events: men's soccer; men's volleyball, women's volleyball; Athletics (2,000m run), taking place from December 22^nd, 2023 to January 9^th, 2024.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Vice Rector of Kien Giang University presented souvenir flags to the competing teams.

Opening speech, MSc. Trinh Le Hoang Tuan - Secretary of Kien Giang University Youth Union said that every year, the Youth Union - Kien Giang University Student Association organizes student sport festivals to promote propaganda, education, and create profound changes in awareness, position and importance of sport in improving health and physical fitness.

Thereby, talented athletes are aimed to be found to participate in provincial-level sports competitions and exchanges between inter-neighboring units.

According to MSc. Trinh Le Hoang Tuan this was also an opportunity for athletes to learn and improve their professional qualification and competition experience; continuing to respond to the campaign "All people exercise according to the example of Great Uncle Ho" contributing to promoting the sports movement of Kien Giang University to grow and develop provincially and inter-neighboring units.
