“Lễ hội xuân hồng” và Ngày “Chủ nhật đỏ” – hiến máu cứu người năm 2019

Sáng ngày 24/01/2019 tại Trường Đại học Kiên Giang đã diễn ra “Lễ hội xuân hồng và Ngày “Chủ nhật đỏ” với thông điệp “Hiến giọt máu đào – Trao đời sự sống” do Ban Chỉ đạo vận động hiến máu tình nguyện tỉnh phối hợp với Báo Tiền Phong, Tỉnh Đoàn và Trường Đại học Kiên Giang tổ chức.

Attending the ceremony there were: journalist Hong Linh - Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper Representatives in the Mekong Delta Region, Mr. Luu Kim Oai - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross, Deputy Standing Committee of the Steering Committee of provincial blood donation volunteering campaign and representatives of agencies, departments and branches of Kien Giang province. On behalf of Kien Giang University, there was Associate Professor. Dr. Thai Thanh Luom - School Rector along with hundreds of volunteers and students from schools participated in voluntary blood donation.

At the ceremony, Mr. Luu Kim Oai - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Association, Deputy Standing Committee of Provincial Steering Committee for Blood Donation Campaign, launched the "Pink Spring Festival" and "Red Sunday" in 2019. Thereby, he also appreciated the role of the youth and students for actively participating in voluntary blood donation. This was a human activity contributing to arousing and spreading love in every Vietnamese person’s heart.

This year's "Red Sunday" in the Mekong Delta Region has 4 participating provinces: Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Soc Trang and Can Tho City. This is the second year Tien Phong Newspaper has coordinated with Kien Giang province to carry out the program "Pink Spring Festival" and "Red Sunday". In 2018 alone, the Provincial Steering Committee coordinated with Tien Phong newspaper to organize the "Pink Spring Festival" and "Red Sunday" in Giong Rieng district with 600 volunteers responding, resulting in receiving 493 units of blood; Notably, after the launching ceremony of this event, 19 units responded to the voluntary blood donation organization, receiving 4,708 units of blood, reaching 106% of the proposed plan.

This year, the "Pink Spring Festival" and "Red Sunday" also received the participation of many volunteers and students from Colleges and Universities in Kien Giang province. The result received was 350 units of blood.

Blood donation activities of Youth and Students

"Red Sunday" has contributed to promoting the spirit of initiative and volunteering for the community among the youth and students; mobilizing a diversity of people in society to participate in voluntary blood donation such as: armed force, officials, laborers, ethnic minorities, foreigners... in order for blood drops to flow more strongly, spreading into Vietnamese blood.

 Also on this occasion, Journalist Hong Linh - Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper Representatives in the Mekong Delta Region and KGU representatives along with sponsors awarded 26 scholarships to 26 students in hardship from the Kien Giang provincial schools.
