Organizing a 0 VND self-service food stall to help boarding students overcome Covid-19

On July 28th, Agriculture and Rural Development Faculty, Kien Giang University organized a free-of-charge food stall and distributed free hand sanitizer to students staying in the dormitory. The stall aimed to share the difficulties of students in the context of the current Covid-19 outbreak.

Students lined up neatly and kept a safe distance to prepare to enter the booth.

The 0-VND stall displayed daily essential foods such as noodles, eggs, vegetables, sugar, soy sauce, etc. Particularly, the stall also had over 100 bottles of hand sanitizer mixed by lecturers of Agriculture and Rural Development Faculty according to the formula of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Dr. Duong Van Nha - Head of Agriculture and Rural Development Faculty arranged a booth to welcome students.

According to Mr. Duong Van Nha - Head of Agriculture and Rural Development Faculty, the volunteer group including lecturers and students of Faculty carried out many outside activities. In the face of the Covid-19 epidemic, the faculty wanted to take more care of their students. Therefore, the booth was organized, and the cost of the booth was contributed by the faculty lecturers, to encourage the spirit, helping the students overcome the difficulties of the epidemic, to study at the school with peace of mind.

Students were required to keep distance and wash their hands with sanitizer before entering the self-sevice booth. 

Tit Mony, a Cambodian student, majoring in Plant Science, struggled to tie up the gift he received. Tit Mony said: “Many places on the street are closed due to the Covid-19 epidemic, and we also have no money to go out shopping. Today, when I receive the support of the teachers, I am very excited. If it were not for this gift, we would have a lot of difficulties!”

Students chose food at 0-VND booth of Agriculture and Rural Development Faculty.

Vandy, a Cambodian student, majoring in Biotechnology, said that due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it was very difficult for him and his friends to go out to buy food, so when he received the gift of his choice, he felt very happy. The lecturers also gave them hand sanitizer and reminded them to do 5K well to protect their health. He would like to thank the lecturers in Agriculture and Rural Development Faculty.
