Kien Giang organized Kien Giang Province Youth Informatics Contest in 2023

On April 21st, at Kien Giang University, Kien Giang Provincial Youth Union, Department of Education and Training and Department of Information and Communications of Kien Giang province coordinated to organize the Opening Ceremony of Kien Giang Province Youth Informatics Competition 2023.

The contest attracted 264 candidates participating in 2 groups, including 186 candidates taking the exam for the General Group (elementary school, secondary school, and high school) and 78 candidates taking the exam for the Civil Service Group, officials, and young employees in Kien Giang province.

Overview of the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Kien Giang Province Youth Informatics Contest

The 2023 Kien Giang Province Youth Informatics Contest included the following contents: programming skills contest for elementary, secondary and high school students; Computer-based multiple-choice exam and computer-based practice exam using Microsoft Office 2013 software; product creation contest such as software, hardware, and integrated products.

In addition to the contest content, the Organization coordinated to organize a scientific and technological playground with the theme "Originating creativity - connecting information technology".

Speaking at the contest, comrade Thi Phuong Hong - Deputy Secretary of Kien Giang Provincial Youth Union emphasized: The 4.0 technology revolution had a strong impact on technology platforms in all fields of politics, economics, culture, society... in the world in general and Vietnam in particular.

This was both a challenge and an opportunity to develop and integrate deeply with the world. Therefore, improving the level of information technology was of interest to leaders at all levels, creating an environment for competition, training, exchanging and learning, especially for students, officials, civil servants and young employees throughout the province.

The Organization awarded souvenir flags to the participating units.

“The contest was an environment to encourage officials, civil servants, public employees, union members, and youth to improve their digital capabilities and effectively apply information technology in the process of research, study, work, and entertainment... contributing to the effective implementation of the national digital transformation program in general and Kien Giang province in particular" - said comrade Thi Phuong Hong.
