Improving the quality of teaching and learning activities in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic

On June 6th, Kien Giang University organized an online dialogue conference between the President and students, with the topic "Teaching and learning activities in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic" for the 2020-2021 school year.

The online dialogue took place on the fan page of Kien Giang University and attracted a large number of students to attend and discuss issues related to training organization, course registration, facilities for studying and living, teaching work of lecturers, service attitude of administrative specialists, etc.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh - Rector, to ensure the quality of online teaching in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, in addition to innovating teaching methods, increasing interaction between lecturers and students, ..., the school also strengthened the inspection and supervision of teaching and learning to promptly correct existing problems and difficulties, find causes and solutions to overcome the limitations of online teaching to improve the teaching effectiveness of the school in the coming time.

In school year 2020-2021 Kien Giang University developed and implemented a 3-semester training plan, in which 20% of the course time was allocated for online teaching. Therefore, when the Covid-19 epidemic re-broke out, Kien Giang University proactively switched all classroom teaching activities to online teaching and learning until the epidemic stabilized through software such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. At the same time, E-Learning lectures were designed and posted on the Facluties' website for students to conveniently follow and study.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Phuoc - Head of the Inspection and Legal Department answered questions about inspection work during the learning process.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh, depending on the development of the epidemic situation, the University was letting students attend tests and evaluation their course online or directly via paper-based assignments. Currently, the University also prepared the contents and methods of courses’ evaluations in the context of epidemic prevention and control according to regulations on organizing online exams through many forms such as: conducting exercises (writing reports); using multiple-choice question banks; organizing oral exams, etc.
