The Faculty of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a meeting and exchange with freshmen of Course 9.
On September 26th, the Faculty of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a meeting and exchange with freshmen of course 9 of Biotechnology, Crop Science, Animal Husbandry and Aquaculture.
At the meeting there was Dr. Duong Van Nha - Dean, MSc. Ngo Van Thong - Deputy Head of Animal Science Department, MSc. Tran Viet Quyen - Deputy Head of Applied Biology Department, MSc. Nguyen Van Phuoc - Deputy Head of the Department of Agronomy, along with all lecturers and freshmen of the faculties being trained.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Duong Van Nha - Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Rural Development informed freshmen about the functions, tasks, training majors, scientific research, foreign internship, … of the faculty.
“In recent years, the rate of students graduating from all majors of the faculty has been high at over 85%, and over 80% of students have had jobs after graduation. The starting salary for them after graduation ranged from 8 million - 12 million VND depending on the working position. Especially for the majors in the faculty that are currently in great need of human resources, employers sent their requests and recruited right while students were still studying" Dr. Duong Van Nha shared.

In addition to general information of the department, subject leaders also shared professional information about the modules, practical practice of the major, and skills to study the modules well. In addition, there was also the sharing of information about practical experience of alumni and students participating in internship programs in countries such as Israel, Denmark, and Indonesia.
Former student Tran Hoang Khang - Biotechnology major shared his experience as an intern abroad.
During the meeting, many freshmen asked questions related to training, study skills, jobs after graduation, salary and conditions for foreign internships.
Student Cao Khoi Nghia - Crop Science major asked questions at the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Duong Van Nha affirmed choosing to study Agriculture was one of the right choices because this was a major in great need of human resources, with high job opportunities after graduation, and with many opportunities for scientific research to improve professional skills, where students could intern abroad.
Therefore, parents could feel secure while their children studying at the Faculty of Agriculture and Rural Development of Kien Giang University. Dr. Duong Van Nha sent his thanks to the parents and freshmen for trusting and choosing to attend his faculty.
With the mission of training quality agricultural human resources to meet the needs of society, faculty leaders and all lecturers have affirmed to always accompany students, share and support them throughout their studying time at school.
