According to Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh, there were 43 Cambodian students returning home during the Lunar New Year break, Kien Giang University worked with the People's Committee and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Kien Giang province to create conditions and support them to return home. On the focus school, the pick-up will be held in 2 phases. However, there are also some children stuck due to Covid-19 infection, the school will organize a delegation to the border gate to pick them up after they complete the procedures and treatment time.

In order to ensure the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, students are welcomed to the University to follow the isolation process according to the regulations of the health authorities. Accordingly, the school organizes a quick test for Covid-19 antigens before sending them to the dormitory to isolate for 3 days, Chau Thanh District Health Center will take PCR samples before sending them to live classes. . If students infected with Covid-19 will be isolated, treated according to regulations and guided by lecturers and sent study materials to keep up with the progress.

Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh also added that this year the University will welcome 9 more international students to the University, including 7 Cambodian students and 2 Indonesian students; bringing the total number of international students studying at the school to nearly 80, training in fields such as construction engineering, information technology, crop science, biotechnology,...

“Kien Giang University fully implements the policies of international students such as arranging accommodation in dormitories, supporting living expenses, granting scholarships, organizing for Vietnamese students to support their studies. The form of a pair of friends progressing together, helping them to acquire the best knowledge in limited language conditions. For new international students, they will be trained in Vietnamese for 1 year before entering majors” – Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh said.

It is expected that on February 23, the school will welcome 33 more Cambodian students from Ha Tien International Border Gate (Kien Giang province) and 2 Indonesian students at Tan Son Nhat International Airport to the University Dormitory. study in Kien Giang to return to school and study.

At the School Dormitory, Siv Sovannara, a Cambodian student, second year of Information Technology, said that after returning home for nearly a month, he was able to return to school, now he is very happy to be greeted by the school. to pick up. “I thank the teachers and friends at Kien Giang University for caring, sharing and creating a warm and loving learning environment for me. In this school year, I will strive to study well to get good grades,” said Siv Sovannara.

After completing the Covid-19 quick test, Khun Phanravin, a Cambodian student, 3rd year of Information Technology, shared that she felt very happy and touched when the school arranged for her to return home after a long time. The Covid-19 epidemic lasted for a long time and the delegation to welcome us back to school was very attentive, providing medical support and health checks for us. Currently, I am eager to return to school to study directly with my friends, striving for good results this school year.
