On December 15th, Kien Giang University coordinated with the Saigon Center for Education Accreditation to organize a ceremony to announce the Decision and award certificates of programme accreditation for 5 university-level training programs.

At the ceremony, there were representatives of the Saigon Center for Education Accreditation, representatives of businesses, Party Committee, Board of Directors and more than 300 officials, lecturers and students of Kien Giang University.

5 training programs of Kien Giang University received education accreditation certificates are Law, Business Administration, Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Mathematics Pedagogy, and Aquaculture, which has affirmed that Kien Giang University has been on the right track in developing training programs to meet the requirements for innovation in Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Training and in accordance with the needs of society.

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Acting Vice Rector of Kien Giang University, education accreditation is a continuous, thorough and long-term process, affirming quality reputation and sustainable development of Kien Giang University in the future.

According to the target of the training program meeting accreditation standards for the period 2022-2025, the school exceeded the set target (reaching 50% compared to the target of 35% of the school's total training program). In the coming time, Kien Giang University officials and staff strive to have 100% of its training programs achieve education accreditation, improve, develop and build application-oriented training programs in accordance with society's requirements.

The process of evaluating 5 training programs of Kien Giang University went through the stages including document appraisal, preliminary survey (from August 11, 2023 to August 12, 2023), official survey (from August 26, 2023 to August 30, 2023), defending the results of external evaluation in Ho Chi Minh City (October 15, 2023). The education accreditation of university training programs is carried out according to Circular No. 04/2016 of the Ministry of Education and Training with 11 standards and 50 criteria.

Representatives of the Saigon Center for Education Accreditation  and Kien Giang University awarded certificates of educational quality accreditation for training programs to leaders of faculties.

As a result, all 5 training programs evaluated by the Council met quality accreditation standards according to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training. Accordingly, the Business Administration and Natural Resources and Environmental Management majors have a rate of 94% meeting the criteria; In Mathematics Education and Aquaculture, the ratio of criteria meeting the requirements is 92%; In Law, the rate of criteria meeting the requirements is 88%.

Kien Giang University was recognized as meeting quality accreditation standards for higher education institutions in July 2022. Up to now, Kien Giang University has had 10 training programs that meet educational quality accreditation standards. In the 2024 - 2025 academic year, Kien Giang university trains students in 22 undergraduate majors with a total of more than 5,000 students.
