Welcoming the Japanese Delegation to exchange and cooperate in research on high-tech applications in aquaculture.
On the morning of February 27th, 2019, Kien Giang University welcomed the Japanese Delegation led by Mr. Narita Shigeo to exchange and cooperate in research on high-tech applications in aquaculture.
Overview of the working session of the Japanese Delegation - University of Kien Giang
Welcoming the working group of Mr. Narita Shigeo from Japan, leaders of Kien Giang University included MSc. Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Rector of the School and representatives of leaders of Faculties, Departments, Committees, Institutes and Centers under the School. In addition, there was also Ms. Le Hong Dieu, Deputy Head of Disease Management Department, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine - Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Kien Giang province.
At the meeting, the delegation from the Japanese side also discussed and explored opportunities to promote research cooperation between Tokyo University of Fisheries and Kien Giang University in the project of applying high technology in aquaculture in general and high-quality organic shrimp farming in particular.
The representatives of the Japanese delegation introduced the content.
Besides, the delegation also introduced the Japanese Organic Agriculture Alliance Organization and the Alliance's activities in Vietnam today (Ninh Binh, Can Gio, Bac Ninh...) with some specific contents such as introducing the company, organic farming models in Japan, and waste treatment; popular environmental treatment methods and a number of projects being implemented in Japan as well as in Vietnam.

Through the initial information provided by the Japanese delegation, the working delegation of Kien Giang University also had positive feedback, exchanged some information, and requested the Japanese delegation to answer surrounding questions around the issues of: how high-tech aquaculture would bring economic efficiency to farmers; whether its impact on the environment, its impact on biological populations - microorganisms, would cause an imbalance on the ecological environment or not. And they also received satisfactory answers from the Japanese delegation.

Summarizing the working session, MSc. Nguyen Van Thanh - Vice Rector of the University emphasized: "The University side completely agrees and supports the cooperation and information exchange between Kien Giang University and Tokyo University of Fisheries and businesses. This is also an opportunity to create connection and research cooperation between Tokyo University of Fisheries and Kien Giang University."
