Students of Kien Giang University won the consolation prize in the 22nd Student Scientific Research Competition - Euréka in 2020.
MA. Tran Phuoc Qui - Specialist of the Institute of Science, Technology & Training; Student Do Ta Manh Tien and Vo Thi Yen Nhi of Foreign Languages Faculty, Kien Giang University were just commended and rewarded for their high achievements in the " Student Scientific Research Competition - Eureka ".
On December 9th, Kien Giang University held a commendation and reward ceremony for instructors and students winning prizes in the " Student Scientific Research Competition - Eureka, 22nd in 2020".
The lecturers and honored students commended and rewarded by Kien Giang University Rector this time included: MA. Tran Phuoc Qui - Specialist of the Institute of Science, Technology & Training; Do Ta Manh Tien and Vo Thi Yen Nhi, students of Foreign Languages Faculty.
Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh – Rector awarded certificates of merit to instructors and students
winning prizes in the “Student Scientific Research – Euréka” competition.
The research team carried out the topic "Compare the growth and productivity of I. aquatica species on hydroponic subsystems within an aquaponic system".
Do Ta Manh Tien and Vo Thi Yen Nhi, students of Foreign Languages Faculty - Kien Giang University, presented at the competition.
After 3 rounds of competition (preliminary, semi-final, final), 121 awards were given, in which, the contestant team of Kien Giang University won the consolation prize.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh - Rector acknowledged the achievements and commended the instructors and students winning prizes in the 2020 national Euréka competition.
Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh – Rector requested to strongly implement scientific research work among lecturers and students.
At the same time, he requested to further promote the scientific research work of the school; called on all students to strive and make efforts to choose topics suitable for themselves to conduct scientific research; train, develop and better serve their studies at school. The teaching staff needed to continue to have plans to guide students in scientific research, participate in more scientific research competitions and achieve higher prizes in the future.
The contest team of Kien Giang University received an encouragement award from the Organizing Committee.
MA. Tran Phuoc Qui - Specialist of the Institute of Science, Technology and Training, shared: "Although the award is only at the encouragement level, you are my best examples; as long as you have tried, any ranking or result is the best. Don't let arrogance kidnap your hearts. Just believe, as long as you try your best, no matter what the result is, it is worth being proud of".
After receiving the certificate of merit at the commendation ceremony, Do Ta Manh Tien happily sent his thanks to Kien Giang University teachers for encouraging, supporting and creating conditions for the group to participate in the competition, especially the instructors supporting carefully throughout the preparation process until the competition.
Do Ta Manh Tien (in white shirt, standing 2nd from left) received the Most Favorite Poster award at the competition.
According to Tien, because this was the first time participating in the competition and they did not have much experience, the research team encountered many surprises in the process of preparing the content of the documents. "There were times when we had difficulty finding a method to implement our ideas, so we wanted to give up when we ran out of ideas, but thanks to the encouragement of the instructors as well as the teachers at the school, we were given more strength to continue working on the topic, pursuing our passion" - Tien said.

It was known that Student Scientific Research Award - Euréka was a noble award given to students with a passion for scientific research, organized by Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City National University from 1999 to present. In 2020, the award attracted 1,011 scientific research topics from 114 Universities, Colleges, and Academies nationwide.
