Organizing the semifinal of KGU Startup Innovative Idea Competition IV in 2023

After 3 months of launching KGU Startup Innovative Idea Competition IV in 2023, , Kien Giang University has received 9 ideas and projects from student participants, among which 7 ideas/projects entered the semifinal.

Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang - Vice Rector of Kien Giang University spoke at the semifinal of the competition.

Recently, Kien Giang University has organized the semifinal of KGU Startup Innovative Idea Competition IV in 2023.

Speaking at the semifinal, Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang - Vice Rector of Kien Giang University emphasized students play an important role in developing an innovative startup ecosystem. Hopefully, through the competition, the students will continue to think, create, and attempt more to innovate high-quality products, so as to complete projects/ideas for competing in the final round and all-other-level innovative competitions.

After 3 months of launching KGU Startup Innovative Idea Competition IV in 2023, , Kien Giang University has received 9 ideas and projects from student participants, among which 7 ideas/projects entered the semifinal.

Startup ideas/projects in all fields, including many applied scientific and technological ideas/projects, were automatized and the products were developed using indigenous resources. All ideas/projects have been developed into actual products.

Specifically, 7 ideas/projects entering the semifinal of the competition included: smart drying rack; cereal rice; S-FEEDER; xứ bần; first-dried shrimp; Banana kaoliang; rural pineapple.

In the semifinal, each group of competitors had 5 minutes for explaining, introducing, showing an introduction video clip to their products/projects and 10 more minutes for responding to critical questions from members of The Board of Examiners. 

Students presented the Smart Drying Rack project at the semifinal.

Pham Thien Huong acknowledged that her group is joining in the competition with the project "Xứ bần". The group chose to use cork fruits to create cork-sauce product to enhance the value of native cork trees, especially helping to stimulate the growth of cork trees for landslide prevention, which creates a positive impact on the environment.

The Board of Examiners commented and evaluated ideas/projects

At the end of the semifinal, all 7 ideas/projects were selected by the Jury to enter the final round. The final round is expected to take place on August 25th.
