The project “Prevention, reduction and recycling of fishing gear waste in Vietnam’s coastal areas” (NET-WORKS) was implemented by Osfalia University of Applied Sciences (Germany) in collaboration with Nha Trang University, Kien Giang University, Ha Long University and other partners in Vietnam. The project focuses on solving the problem of fishing gear waste in Vietnam’s coastal areas to reduce the amount of unused, lost or discarded fishing nets, and raising awareness to avoid fishing gear loss for businesses/fishermen and fisheries management agencies as well as Vietnamese society in general.
