On the morning of January 30th , 2024, the Executive Board of the Network of Centers of Technology Application and Startups of Universities and Colleges in Vietnam (VNEI) chaired by the Network President Dr. Nguyen Trung Dung approved via voting new members into the network, including Kien Giang University Center of Technology Application and Startups (KGU-CTAS).

KGU-CTAS was established based on Decision No. 356/QD-DHKG dated April 25^th , 2022 by the Rector of Kien Giang University. The center operates in the field of science and technology (applied research, trial production, transfer) in general, with priority towards 4.0, high technology, automatic control, computerization, activity participation to support the development of innovative start-up and startup ecosystems of Kien Giang province and the country, incubating and forming innovative start-up businesses, coordinating with relevant co-operated units domestically and internationally in application activities, technology transfer and start-up activities, organizing training, retraining and coaching for students, officials, employees of the University and relevant organizations and individuals. demand for technology transfer and start-up activities, innovative startups, providing consulting services and other related support for technology transfer and start-up activities.

KGU - CTAS officials and VNEI participated in the program "Journey to connect and improve innovation capacity, support start-ups at universities and colleges"

in December 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The VNEI Network born under the auspices of the National Innovation Center (NIC) aimed at connecting and strengthening close cooperation between organizations with the same functions and tasks to support and promote innovation and startups in universities and colleges to carry out innovative activities in training, research, technology transfer and develop comprehensive capacity for educational and training institutions. The three core values of the VNEI Network are: Connecting – Co-operating - Co-innovating.

Participating in the VNEI Network, KGU-CTAS will have the opportunity to cooperate and meet each other directly to socialize, exchange, share and discuss related information of the Network as well as the unit's innovation and skills activities with other members of the Network; organize a competition on innovation and startups for students of member schools; cooperate to implement training, incubate, research and develop activities for Network members in particular as well as the Innovation and Startup Ecosystem in general; Organize in-person or online conferences, seminars, and forums on related topics.

With participation in the KGU-CTAS Network is an energetic start and increased connection, development of start-up activities and creative innovation for the University in 2024.
