Kien Giang University promotes the development of reading culture among students.

On April 19th, Kien Giang University held the Opening Ceremony of Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Week in 2023, attracting nearly 200 officials, lecturers and students to attend.

Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Week in 2023 at Kien Giang University will be held from April 19th to 26th at the Information Center and Library.

Throughout the week, a series of cultural activities associated with books will take place such as: Organizing the display and introduction of new books; Art book stacking; Quizzi knowledge game on mobile phones, chasing pictures and catching words; organizing the symposium "The current situation and solutions to effectively exploit the potential of the Library". On the internet, there will be a contest to introduce books or the topic "Books for me, for you".

At the same time, the organization launched the Loving Book Corner, operating in the form of exchanging and sharing resources. When a reader puts in a book, he or she can take away another book on the shelf. The book corner will be a bridge, a playground for those interested in reading culture, and those who love books to have the opportunity to share their experiences of choosing books and sharing good books in order to contribute to solving readers' concerns about financial problems when accessing and absorbing new knowledge.

Distributing opening speech, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Vice President of Kien Giang University said that this is the third time Kien Giang University has organized activities to develop reading culture in response to Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Day.

Through the Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Week to encourage and develop the reading movement, promote the building of reading culture in the School and spread to the community; raise awareness of the great significance and importance of reading.

“Hopefully each official, lecturer as well as each student will be a propagandist, actively reading books and forming reading habits in schools, contributing to building a learning society and spreading to the reading cultural community” – Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh said.
