The School Council met for the 5th session of the 2014 - 2019 term

On the afternoon of June 14th, 2019, at Kien Giang University, the 5th meeting of the Kien Giang University Council for the 2014 - 2019 term took place. The content of the meeting was mainly to discuss and agree on the strengthen the School Council.

Kien Giang University's School Council was first established with 25 members according to Decision 3974/QD-BGDDT dated September 29^th, 2015 of the Minister of Education and Training. After nearly 5 years of operation, School Council members have generally actively contributed to the development of the school. However, up to then, due to health reasons and personal conditions, some members of the School Council could not continue to participated in the School Council. In addition, according to the regulations of the 2018 amended Law on Higher Education on the member structure of the School Council of public universities, the University also needs to quickly complete the School Council before 01/07/2019.

After exchange and discussion, the meeting agreed to let 09 members of the 2014 - 2019 term stop participating in the School Council and add 09 new School Council members to ensure the composition structure according to regulations. The total number of School Council members remains at 25, of whom details of the composition structure were as follows: Chairman, Party Secretary, Rector, Trade Union Chairman, Members of the Youth Union Executive Committee who are students (hard components consisted of 04 people (16%); Lecturer representatives were 11 people (44%); Representatives of the University's officials and employees were 02 people (8%); Members outside the school were 08 people (32%).
