On November 4, at Kien Giang University, a meeting program was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022); 45 years of signing the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

Attending the program were Mr. Van Xay Xay Se Na - Deputy Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Luu Trung - Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee; the delegates are leaders of provincial departments and branches and more than 300 international students and students studying at Kien Giang University.

With the theme: "The year of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos 2022", the program held cultural and artistic exchanges; review the cooperation process between Kien Giang province and Laos; important historical significance of the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos through each period.

At the meeting, Mr. Van Xay Xay Se Na - Deputy Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City expressed his joy and honor when leading the Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City attended the meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022); 45 years of signing the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation organized by Kien Giang province.

According to Mr. Van Xay Xay Se Na, this is an opportunity to review the tradition of solidarity between the two countries and enhance understanding, exchange and cooperation between the Consulate General of Laos, the Lao people and the authorities and people of Kien Jiang province. At the same time, it is hoped that in the coming time, Kien Giang province will expand its relationships with other provinces of Laos, so that the Lao People's Democratic Republic can learn from experience.

Mr. Van Xay Xay Se Na thanked the Party Committee, authorities and people of Kien Giang province for their valuable and timely help to the Lao people, especially the help, care, study, and food, accommodation for Lao students studying at Kien Giang University in the past 3 years.

Delivering a welcome speech, Mr. Nguyen Luu Trung - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province wished that Kien Giang province would continue to strengthen cooperation relations and friendly activities, people-to-people exchanges with localities of Kien Giang province. Laos; at the same time, propagate and educate to deepen the people's awareness, especially the young generation, about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which means deep affection, thereby promoting the cooperation relationship more and more deeply, effectively between the two countries for the goal of development and international integration of each country.

Previously, the delegation of the Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City had a courtesy meeting with the Board of Directors and interacted with Lao students studying at Kien Giang University. Mr. Van Xay Xay Se Na visited and sent special thanks to the teachers of Kien Giang University who have been making great contributions in training quality human resources for Laos; create favorable conditions, support, interest as well as provide scholarships for Lao students to study at the University.

Currently, Kien Giang University has 20 Lao students studying in training majors such as: Information Technology, Business Administration, Biotechnology, Construction Engineering Technology,... children are provided with 100% of tuition fees, completely free of charge in the dormitory; at the same time, support 1 million VND/student/month.
