Kien Giang University inaugurated the Banking Practice Room

On June 23rd, Kien Giang University cooperated with Kien Long Bank to hold a cooperation signing ceremony and inaugurate the Banking Practice Department.

Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Kien Giang University received a grant for the Banking Practice Department of Kien Long Bank.

Banking practice room at Kien Giang University with an area of ​​100m2, sponsored by Kien Long Bank with a total budget of VND 473 million, equipped with 8 professional computers, desks and chairs, document cabinets, printer, fax, air conditioner, etc. At the same time, 1 STM machine was supported to help students access and transact with modern banking operations such as account opening, card, automatic deposit and withdrawal.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Kien Giang University emphasized that Kien Giang University was training application-oriented, engaging with businesses in training to create quality output well, meeting the needs of the enterprise's human resources; to create motivation to achieve strategic goals; helping students acquire skills and expertise in the digital transformation space, access traditional banking and digital banking.

According to Dr. Ngo Van Thien - Dean of Economics Faculty, Kien Giang University, the Banking Practice Room was designed as a banking transaction office. Freshmen were having the conditions to access banking operations in the most general way. From the second year onwards, during specialized subjects’ studying period, they were being able to practice their profession based on a set of simulation documents supported by Kien Long Bank with different positions in the operation of a commercial bank.

 “Having access to practical skills from the first year plus a 1-semester internship at a bank or a financial institution in the final year, the students will firmly grasp the profession and feel very confident after graduation, which helps them increase their job opportunities after leaving school” – Dr. Ngo Van Thien said.

Participating in the experience at the Banking Practice Room, Dang Ngoc Thuan, a student of class B022NH2, Faculty of Economics shared the Banking Practice Room in the University would help them conveniently approach reality, practice directly with work on specialized software while still attending university; have a broader view of their work in the future, easily catch up with work after graduation.
