Mandatory QR code scanning for health declaration using NCOVI application when entering and leaving the school

Given the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, in order to enhance the effectiveness of disease prevention and control, on the morning of June 1st, Kien Giang University implemented mandatory health declaration control when entering and leaving the school through the use of QR codes.

Specifically, when officials, lecturers, employees, students, and visitors came to the school to work, study, or contact work, they were required to scan the QR code to make a health declaration via the NCOVI application on their personal smartphones.

Specialist Nguyen Thai Viet scanned the QR code at the gate when entering the school to work.

In case it was impossible for them to do it via phone, it was required to make a health declaration via paper (or asked someone to declare it for them using the application on the phone).

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Kien Giang University Vice Rector, to facilitate QR code scanning using the NCOVI application on smartphones, the school installed wifi at the school entrance and there was a medical team to support body temperature measurement and provide instructions on how to make health declarations. At the same time, teams were established to inspect epidemic prevention and control work in the school campus.

In addition, Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh added that for students of courses 3, 4, 5, they would switch from face-to-face teaching and learning to online way from May 31st until further notice; for students of course 6, they would stop studying National Defense and Security Education courses (phases 2, 3, 4, 5) and register to study some courses from May 31st to June 6th and teach online from June 7th.

The youth volunteer team measured the body temperature of lecturers before entering the school.

“During the period of not gathering at the school, officials, employees, and students must strictly follow the 5K requirements of Ministry of Health (Masks - Disinfection - Distance - No gathering - Health declaration); wear a mask when coming to school, when using public transport, and crowded places; limit traveling outside the province when really unnecessary, limit contact with strangers coming from epidemic areas, and seriously make health declarations on the NCOVI application” – Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh said.
