Pedagogy and Social Sciences Faculty, Kien Giang University, organized Pedagogical Internship 1 for course 8’ students, majoring in Mathematics Pedagogy and Primary Education at provincial high schools and primary schools in Kien Giang. This was an essential activity in the training program, helping students access the real teaching environment and practice their pedagogical skills.

Overview of the launching ceremony

The internship lasts 4 weeks, from October 7^th, 2024 to November 4^th, 2024, course 8’ students will have the opportunities to directly participate in the teaching and classroom management process at many provincial schools. 34 students majoring in Mathematics Education have been assigned to practice at high schools including Long Thanh Secondary & High School, Tan Hiep High School, An Bien High School, and Thanh Dong High School. Besides, 41 students majoring in Primary Education will practice at Minh Luong 1 Primary School, Minh Luong 2 Primary School, Vinh Hoa Phu 1 Primary School, and Vinh Hoa Phu 2 Primary School.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang - Vice Rector of the School, Head of the Steering Committee for Pedagogical Internship 1 emphasized the importance of taking advantage of internship opportunities to improve expertise, practice skills, and have a full sense of responsibility, while reminding students to comply with regulations and unite and support each other throughout the internship. Through contact and work in a real educational environment, students will also practice a sense of responsibility, professional awareness, and pedagogical ethics - important factors in the process of becoming a teacher.

Pedagogical internship was one of the key activities that Kien Giang University has always paid special attention to, in order to create opportunities for pedagogical students to gain practical experience and practice teaching skills. At the launching ceremony of Pedagogical Internship 1, the novice teachers listened to profound and encouraging sharing and exchanged experiences in homeroom work, teaching, classroom management experience and behavior between novice teachers and their mentors and their students at school from the Steering Committee of Pedagogical Internship 1.
