Kien Giang University youth joined hands with the community to end HIV/AIDS.

More than 200 students at Kien Giang University were propagated with content about HIV/AIDS prevention, PrEP pre-exposure prevention and raising awareness of proactive health care as well as how to prevent social diseases.

Teams participated in a propaganda contest on HIV/AIDS prevention and control.

On September 25th, Kien Giang University coordinated with the Kien Giang Center for Disease Control to organize a media event to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the 2023 - 2024 school year to more than 200 students.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang - Vice Rector of Kien Giang University emphasized: The event aims to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in the student community; create a playground to exchange and share experience and initiatives in communication activities; promote and introduce counseling support services, HIV/AIDS testing, and related programs.

Hopefully, through the competition, students will gain more knowledge, and each individual will be an active propagandist to contribute to minimizing and eventually eliminating the evil of HIV, contributing to an increasingly more developed society. – Dr. Nguyen Trung Cang said.

Accordingly, Kien Giang University organized a propaganda contest on HIV/AIDS prevention and control. The contest had 4 participating teams (each team included 5 members) in 3 rounds: Introducing the team, presenting the contest topic/slogan; Creating a media skit for HIV/AIDS prevention (10 minutes); Eloquent speaking competition with the message "The youth are ready to end the AIDS epidemic".

In addition, students were also able to visit the service provision corner, display communication products, provided with HIV testing consultation, and instructed on providing mobile HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services.

The community joined hands to immediately end HIV/AIDS", a message from the program.

At the end of the competition, the first prize went to the Faculty of Education and Humanities team; the second belonged to the Faculty of Economics.
